I like to draw people’s faces and bodies simply. I also see the beautiful trees, which surround me here in Houston, as figures for drawing. I want to draw what I see in a way that reveals the messages of facial expression, stance and gesture. I draw with colorful pan pastels, pastel sticks, graphite, colored pencils and ink. I make backgrounds with tinted gesso washes, printed photos, handmade and patterned paper, and found paper collage.
