Leadership
Board of Directors

President
Adam Land
Adam’s artwork explores color, geometry, and unseen systems shaping modern life. His paintings and mixed-media works are in permanent collections at universities and cultural institutions, have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and featured in publications including Art in America, Architectural Digest, and American Artwork.

Treasurer
Reese Hazel
With over twenty years experience providing artist support, Reese serves as Visual Arts Alliance Treasurer, helping to ensure fiscal responsibility and promote community engagement.

Secretary
Cheryl Russell
Cheryl is an abstract and figurative expressionist painter based at Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards. She teaches in-studio art journaling and creative process classes—and firmly believes the best art lays it all out—mess, heart, truth, and all.

Member at Large
Crystal Owens
N. Blanca, the pseudonym, identifies Crystal’s creative process. This identity is a perspective on documenting the beauty of everyday objects. Her ceramics are vessels for objects, as well as ideas. Vessels are filled into and then emptied, like we hold and release emotions.

Member at Large
Keri Bas
Keri is an award-winning textile artist at Painted Hippo Studio in Houston, Texas. Her work has appeared in regional, national, and international art shows and is held in private collections. Through fiber, thread, and design, her work speaks about the world we live in, the world we could shape in the future, and the way that the past informs the present. Keri has taught sewing and crafts to artists of all ages, and she leads small-group workshops on creativity and multimedia arts.
Vice President
Currently Vacant
This leadership position is currently vacant. The Vice President plays a key role in guiding Visual Arts Alliance strategy and supporting our mission to connect and empower artists. If you are interested in serving or learning more, please contact us for details.
Committee Chairpersons

Exhibitions Committee
Troy Winscott
Troy Winscott, a Houston-based fine artist and Exhibitions Committee Chair for Visual Arts Alliance, founded Art Studio Set from a passion for fine art and illustration. His large-scale works span museum-quality pieces, public installations, and commissions for major corporations, healthcare, and private collections.

Programs Committee
John Pagani
As an emerging Houston artist in the BLOCK Program at the MFAH Glassell School of Art, John Pagani examines consumerism and media structures. He uses photography, painting, and collage to deconstruct commercial iconography, revealing fragmented realities and questioning the control behind our tastes.

Marketing Committee
Eileen Storey
Eileen began Indigo Grove Designs in Japan over 30 years ago, creating functional pottery and intricate mosaics. Her sculptural work and mosaics employ color, texture, and found objects to explore home and houses, and the challenge of creating one from another.
