Kate Matthiesen has been an active member of the Visual Arts Alliance for several years and her work has been selected by Brian Portman, Keith Carter, Jean Caslin and Diane Griffin Gregory into three annual juried open competitions.  Because of a language learning disability, finding her voice through painting has brought her great joy.  By her participation in the VAA exhibitions, Kate has experienced public recognition of her talents and abilities. Her self-confidence has grown and she is inspired to continue to explore her personal vision.
