Growing up in New Orleans, I was always fascinated by the artists in the French Quarter. I could have spent hours wandering along Jackson Square watching the artists paint or draw. I knew I wanted to be an artist.

Many years have passed since that time, but the desire has always remained. Like many of the artists that I saw when I was young, I like to paint based on real life. I am in awe of the beauty of God’s creation, whether it is nature, or animals, or people. My favorite subject has always been people but I don’t want to just paint a likeness. I look for what is unique and try to reflect that very essence.

My goal is to capture a moment in time. An expression. An emotion. It is my hope that all who see my work will step into that moment and feel that emotion.
