Join VAA for an artist-led tour and presentation of "Santuario" by Patrick McGrath Muñiz, Saturday October 9th at 1:00 pm at Heidi Vaughan Fine Art Gallery.
Patrick McGrath Muñiz is a Houston based artist from Puerto Rico, working primarily with oil paintings on canvas and retablos. His work is inspired after Old Master and Spanish colonial paintings while addressing issues such as colonialism, consumerism, climate change and global pandemics.
In his presentation, Patrick will be discussing his most recent body of work titled: "Santuario." He'll be discussing the influences and sources of inspiration for the work as well as the hidden archetypal connections with art history, Christian iconography, tarot, astrology and alchemy.
