    'Grove' by Liz Conces Spencer

Join Visual Arts Alliance Saturday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. for a tour of new exhibit, Metamorphosis, at Archway Gallery, 2305 Dunlavy, Houston, TX 77006.  Artists Joan Laughlin and Liz Conces Spencer will lead the tour, offering insights into the work and answering questions.

Metamorphosis interprets the artists’ observations of and reactions to the constancy of change in the natural world through paintings, drawings, mosaics and sculpture. The exhibit will be on view at Archway through May 2. Archway Gallery is one of Houstons and the nations oldest artist-owned and operated galleries.

    'June' by Joan Laughlin

Joan Laughlin is inspired by daily walks through the Heights area, observing ever-evolving gardens and foliage with seasonal change. This practice has become a metaphor for her reflections about the nature of life in general and her conclusion that “ the only constant in life is change.” Her intricate works are meditative studies on the present, which is fleeting and transitional.

The works of Liz Conces Spencer are also rooted in the natural environment, but from a perspective that vibrates with interpretive patterning and color.  Current works are mosaics, glass, wood and paint in compositions that unveil layers of being in stages of time, or as she has described the revelation, “the aching mystery of infinite change.”

Join Visual Arts Alliance Saturday, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. for a tour of Exhalewith Carla Bisong at Bisong Gallery, 1305 Sterrett St., Houston, TX 77002.

This exhibition of works by Juan C. Torres can be described as an introspective Exploration of emotions and feelings. Each piece is a unique expression, capturing the fragility of life and embracing the concept of a Beautiful Disaster.

Bisong Art Gallery is a contemporary fine art gallery and event venue, located in Houston’s historic Warehouse District, providing art collectors, art lovers, interior designers, non-profits and businesses the opportunity to buy original artwork created by emerging and mid-career artists.

Carla C. Bisong founded Bisong Art Gallery in 2013 inside a 1300 sq.ft loft located in the Historic Warehouse District of downtown Houston, Texas. Carla and her team of art consultants love helping individuals and corporations discover meaningful artwork. With each piece of art, there is a story behind it, and Carla enjoys uncovering those stories for clients and art collectors. She finds great joy in supporting both emerging as well as globally known and sought-after artists. Bisong Art Gallery will provide a range of services to individuals looking to navigate the world of art.
