Francisco Andrés Carrión is an American artist born in Quito, Ecuador based in Houston, Texas since 2001. He was exposed to art at a very young age by his father, a curator and artist himself, and exhibited innate artistic abilities as a child (at 11 years of age, one of his paintings was chosen to participate in a youth world exhibition in Japan). During his formative years, he lived in Spain, Latin America and the United States, which provided him with a multicultural perspective of the world. After graduating from high school, he completed two years of fine art and graphic design studies, moving on to pursue degrees in Chemistry and Communication. Aside from his passion for art, which he continues to develop as a self-taught artist, Francisco Andrés leads a successful career as Senior Technical Writer, Editor and Consultant for prominent oil and gas companies including Shell Oil Company and Exxon Mobil Corp., among many others. His line of work has given him the oportunity to visit, gain access and work in offshore and onshore facilities located around the world, which are often represented in his paintings.
