Tour of Janet and John Blocker Art Collection

April, 2012

Visual Arts Alliance members were invited to tour the private Modern Art Collection of Janet and John Blocker for the April program.

Wade Wilson, of Wade Wilson Art, joined us and provided the  commentary on the collection.

Janet Blocker’s love of art and design began at an early age in Virginia where she grew up. She began collecting seashells, furniture and eventually she saved to purchase her first impressionist painting by Gertrude Fisk.

This collection is filled passionately with internationally know artists such as Jules Olitsky, Helen Frankenthaler, Kenneth Noland, Hans Hoffman and numerous abstract expressionist painters and sculptors including Jesus Morales and others.

What marks the Blocker collection more than any other is the love of art!  Each artwork has been carefully selected, protected and admired.
