Burning Bones Press Printmaking Studio Tour

Printmaking studio tour and talk was held at Burning Bones Press.

 

Burning Bones Press is a printing studio which collaborates with artists to produce limited editions of original etchings, lithographs, woodcuts, screenprints and monoprints. Pat Masteron and Carlos Hernandez are the owners who founded Burning Bones Press.

 

Artist and Master Printer, Patrick Masterson teaches printmaking at the University of Houston and he is an instructor at the Glassell School of Art. Masterson previously served as Master Printer at Mad Cap Press in Houston and Master Printer at Flatbed Press in Austin, where he worked with artists such as James Surls, Luis Jimenez, Dan Rizzie, Trenton Doyle Hancock and Francesca Fuchs. His work has been collected by the Whitney Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

 

Local artist and screenprinter, Carlos Hernandez has designed and printed gig posters for Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers, Arcade Fire, B. B. King and more. His award-winning work has been recently featured in the 2011 Communication Arts Typography annual.
