Cecilia Campos was born in La Paz- Bolivia graduated in 1989 with a degree in architecture from the Universidad Mayor de San Andres. In 1996 she graduated as a visual artist from the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in La Paz.

She has made exhibitions of her work, many of them with jury selection, where she obtained Honorable Mentions and 2nd place in the 12th Annual Juried Exhibition at Archway Gallery in Houston, Texas, in July 2020

Her artwork is in private collections in Bolivia, the United States, Canada, Denmark, and Hong Kong.

In 2018 I started the series “Ephemeral” in a figurative style.

I reflect in my paintings the time we live in and my most significant concern; the fragility and transience of life on our planet, with lost species and many of them who disappear daily.

I use many symbolic elements, forms resembling bellies and floating in space just as our planet floats in the universe; waterless fish suspended in the void are the life we must protect.

The refined technique of acrylic on canvas has helped me to achieve smooth and transparent surfaces.
