Shirley Beyer is an intuitive abstract artist who uses acrylics and mixed media in her 2D work. She is a native Texan and has lived in Houston many years. At the end of 2022, she retired from a 26-year psychotherapy practice in order to pursue her art interests more fully. She discovered that art and Jungian psychology engaged her creative spirit. During her career she heard many stories that ultimately became inspiration for her works. Abstract work enables her to express herself and these stories in a way that words cannot. Shirley currently works from her home studio and yet maintains connections with other artists and former instructors.
