Galveston Art TourProgram events
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Galveston trip has been postponed.
Join us on September 15th for a Visual Arts Alliance-sponsored, one-day trip via luxury coach to explore the arts scene in Galveston. Start the day with a light breakfast on the bus with your fellow artists and collectors. When we arrive, we will visit the historic Rosenberg Library, the oldest library in continuous use in Texas. Well-known gallery owner Brenda Lee of G. Lee Gallery will offer a presentation on gallery partnership in the Fox Room, which has been preserved in all its 1904 splendor. We'll follow the library with an introduction to the Galveston Artist Residency from the director, and a tour of the studios to meet the residents. Have lunch on your own in the historic Strand area. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the 1894 Opera House, which has been restored through the effort of several organizations. There will be time to walk the many art galleries on Post Office Street and The Strand before boarding the bus for our return to Houston.
