2016 saw our 3rd execution of ART720 – a 720 minute art event that begins with artists creating work in a communal, outdoor environment followed by a formal exhibit of the freshly made works.
Participating artists included: Joan Barkovich, Laura Bourdo, Kay Derry, Margaret Errickson, Juanita Gilbert, Jimmy Hines, MaryAnn Lucas, Tracey Meyer, Clark Nunn, Karen Anne Smith, Sally Terrell Smith, Ann Marie Vancas, and Chell Vassallo.
The public were allowed to visit artists as they created works while food and drink were supplied all day.
The event occurred at Next Wall Gallery. Next Wall Gallery is a non-traditional space that is offered to select artists and organizations to provide a Montrose-area location to feature intriguing visual arts events that otherwise could not happen. Owned by Visual Arts Alliance president, Matt Adams and his fiancé, Dominick D’Aunno, M.D., this “underground” space is an unusual part of the Houston art scene.
