On May 27, 2015 the Visual Arts Alliance held the opening reception and awards ceremony for the 8th Juried Invitational Exhibition at 1600 Smith in downtown Houston. This exhibition was open to selected VAA volunteers and was juried by the Chris Higham.
There were 152 submissions from 46 artists and Higham selected 42 works by 29 artists.
The following were selected by Chris Higham for awards:
- 1st Place: Daniel Brents
- 2nd Place: Marcy Ann Villafaña
- 3rd Place: Julia Koutroulis
- Honorable Mention: T.R. Brown
- Honorable Mention: Terry Crump
- Honorable Mention: Marcy Ann Villafaña
