Candis Smith’s artwork varies from representational to abstract and is primarily done in acrylic paint with glazes. Currently , she finds inspiration in the impressionistic works and her surrounding environment. Her art fulfills a personal need and represents her life’s journey. Her style is characterized by energetic brushwork applied in small, quick strokes which captures the light and color from nature.
Smith has been fascinated all of her life with Fine Arts including Painting and Drawing. She studied Fine Art at the Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. She is currently enjoying a rebirth and has entered into a new phase after many turns in the road along her career path which took her in and out of Corporate America. She is currently renewing her Fine Art studies at the Glassell School of Art in Houston. She has traveled extensively to see many works of Art in such countries as France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom including Monet and the Dutch Masters. She is currently entering into a phase where she is seeking exhibition opportunities and markets for her artworks.
