I received my studio art and art history degree from the University of Houston in 2009. I planned to carry my education forward however life has other ideas and I became pregnant with my first born. This quickly took me away from my practice. With my children older now, I can come back to the space where I left off. Joining the VAA is a step in this direction. I am looking to network with other artists and to gain opportunities to speak about, write about and exhibit my work. As I hone my skills and establish deeper networks to creatives, I aim to share this knowledge by hosting low-cost visual arts workshops and classes. Not only am I looking to express myself and my creative visions, but I am also looking to empower others to begin or continue their creative journeys.
