I am a classically trained artist but for the past 24 years I’ve been using digital media to create artwork. I was trained as an oil painter in traditional B.A. and M.F.A. programs at the University of California, Los Angeles where I studied with and was exposed to the work of influential California artists including Robert Heineken, Richard Diebenkorn, John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha, and others.  My current works are a blend of photography and digital painting employing a unique process that I developed over the years. I take digital photos in scenic areas and then enhance the photos in the computer. The images can be output in a variety of sizes and on many different types of substrates including paper, fabric, wood, metal, stone, cement, Plexiglas, and adhesive materials. My production methods include flexible approaches to color, texture, and size that make the imagery adaptable to any environment. The current work focuses on landscape elements presented with a painterly sense of abstraction. During the past three years my digital works have been exhibited in more than thirty local and regional exhibitions as well as juried national and international exhibitions.
