Educational Program – Tour of Artist Studios

On Wednesday, June 7, the Visual Arts Alliance hosted an intimate tour of The Silos at Sawyer Yards, part of Sawyer Yards, one of the nation’s largest collection of working artists. Approximately thirty participants enjoyed a guided tour of five featured artists in The Silos, heard short artist talks at each studio, and learned about the history of the Sawyer Yards campus. We saw artwork including ink drawings, printmaking, photography, painting, wall-relief sculpture and jewelry. The artists on view were John Hovig, Daria Aksenova, Martin Holmes, Marlo Saucedo, and Erik Hagen. Tours were free and open to the public, and attendees raved about the well-organized tour, the delicious snacks and wine, and lively conversation with local artists.
