Over the years, my relationship to the work has evolved from pure explorations of abstract form and color, to a more formal development of monochromatic ‘escapes’ that reduce geometrical elements to their minimum expression, both in palette and form, and to highly dynamic and complex digital works that reflect a more complex visual vocabulary that evokes a feeling of impending movement, interaction and drama. At times, these imaginary ‘escapes’ are vaguely reminiscent of the landscapes one might see on the Earth’s surface from the comfort of an airplane seat, suspended high above. Much of my work seems to inhabit a temporary state of transition, and suggests a spatial relationship with time that captures the play of light and pattern on a given surface.
